Automotive supplier’s expansion complete and production underway
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana– Feb 2011 – Serving the automotive industry, TASUS Corporation, a Midwestern plastic injection molder, is no stranger to critical time management and project launching. TASUS (Tsuchiya Automotive Systems US) recently expanded to allocate 4000 square feet for larger tonnage presses to their existing 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Bloomington, Indiana. Construction started in November and a new 1450 metric ton injection molding press arrived in December. Also installed were two additional machine pads in anticipation of the need for additional large tonnage molding machines to meet customer needs. A 20 ton crane was also purchased and installed to service the larger tonnage machines. The capital venture was successfully completed, on schedule.
With the added capability, TASUS will be positioned to meet the changing needs of customers in their core market base. The first program to pilot the new 1450T press is a headlight housing for the Toyota Highlander, with production starting in mid-2011. Soon to follow are Honda and Nissan headlight housings with production to begin in early 2012. As a result of the growth, TASUS has added five new employees to its workforce.
