Bloomington, IN – Tsuchiya Group North America has hired a robotics intern for the summer. Mike Frederick is between his 1st and 2nd academic years at Vincennes University. Faced with a lack of qualified applicants the TASUS manufacturing plants have begun developing ties to local community and technical colleges. Robert Elliott Director of Technical Development stated; “We hope to fill 1 or 2 intern positions a year from Vincennes University’s CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) Program and turn them into full time positions.”

Florence, AL – TASUS has partnered with Northwest Shoals Community College to Provide Injection Molding training. Currently they offer a one year injection molding certification and a two year Associates Degree. The program began last January with four TASUS employees enrolled. Walt Barkalow, Tsuchiya Group N.A., Director of Manufacturing was instrumental in Nissei donating a press to the college for this training program.
