Northwest-Shoals Community College Prepares Students for Career

August 28, 2014

Florence, AL–The Northwest-Shoals Community College recently opened a new program for students to be trained in the injection molding process. The program will fully train students on how to maneuver molding systems to produce the parts needed. This program will give students hands-on training about injection mold setting, processing, modeling, hydraulics, and pneumatics and robotics programming. Upon completion of the injection molding program students will be able to step right into careers in the plastics manufacturing industry.

This is a much needed program as many companies struggle to find well trained candidates to fill their open positions. This program will offer students an educational path that leads directly into a career. This program has been designed to feed graduates into companies in the surrounding area to help fill the void of skilled labor. Tony Zajacz, TASUS plant manager, said “Right now, our workforce is starving for skilled labor.”
