Bloomington, IN– The TASUS softball team’s season has recently come to a close. This was the first season the team has played together, growing as a team each game. The team battled every game and always left the field with their heads held high. One game in particular, the team came from behind to force extra innings. This game was a nail biter demonstrating the teams mental toughness and never quit attitude.

The team would like to thank all of the employees, friends, and families that came to games in their support. The strong showing during games showed to be just another motivation for the team to come together and give it their all. TASUS employee Brett Wagnon played catcher for the team, and said “The team noticeably came together as the season went on, and we look forward to reforming the team to keep the momentum going during the spring season.”

Every game was competitive and exposed the teamwork that is present in ALL TASUS employees. At TASUS we always work together as a team, whether we are at work or on the field.

Bloomington, IN– Every year TASUS employees collect food donations to put together Thanksgiving food baskets for 50 families in the four surrounding counties. The collections began the first week of October and continue until the week before Thanksgiving. Each week certain items are designated for employees to donate. Each basket contains about 20 items and a smoked turkey.

To celebrate Halloween and mark the half-way point for the food drive TASUS hosts an event called the Trunk-or-Treat. At this event employees and their families wear their Halloween costumes and participate in fun activities. The event consisted of a company sponsored cookout at the plant, a cake-walk, puppet show, costume parade, guess-the-pumpkin-weight contest and a corn-hole tournament. The Trunk-or-Treat cookout had over 100 people in attendance and helped to raise about 75% of the food needed.

Each item an employee donated before or during the event received a raffle ticket. At the event three winners were picked from the raffle. The grand prize winner, Joy Franklin, received an all-inclusive tailgate basket with a parking pass and tickets to the IU football game on November 8th.

The Trunk-or-Treat cookout as well as the food basket collections were planned and led by the Community Service TPS team. This team has dedicated countless hours to put on the event and collect donations. This team has worked with eight agencies to donate the food baskets, and when collections are finished the team will personally go to each of the 50 families’ homes to deliver the baskets. Donations for these food baskets are far from finished. This team will continue to collect food through November 21st. If you are interested in donating contact Cindy Welch at cwelch@tasus.com for more information.
