Shoals Area Ranked #1 City for Manufacturing Jobs

Florence, AL– A recent study conducted by Newgeography.com named the Florence-Muscle Shoals as the No. 1 city for manufacturing jobs in 2014. This study looks at where businesses are already building manufacturing facilities, while many other studies look at various indexes to determine where businesses will want to go. This is a true indicator of the attractiveness of a community for these type of jobs. Additionally, the number of people employed in the shoals area has increased by 35% over the last ten years. Much of this success in attracting businesses is credited to the local governments willingness to help businesses who move there. The Shoals area has developed an economic development fund through a small tax, with the revenues used solely for business developments.

TASUS built a new facility in the Shoals area last year creating 135 jobs for the area. As part of the agreement to build a facility in the area, the Shoals Economic Development fund paid $385,000 towards the costs of construction. When speaking ab0ut the opening of the TASUS AL facility, Plant Manager Tony Zajacz said “The community has been very helpful to us”.

Mark Anderson and TASUS Wellness featured Indiana Chamber magazine

Bloomington, IN– Led by the dedication of Human Resource Director Mark Anderson TASUS has been recognized for our role in improving the health and wellness of our employees. Mark Anderson has led wellness initiatives in the company by setting a great example from the top. Through a persistent effort to improve his own health Anderson was able to lose 100 pounds and keep it off over the past three years. This has resonated throughout the company as health and wellness initiatives have seen improved participation from employees. Anderson told the Biz Voice Magazine “I didn’t have much credibility. My heart was in the right place, but I finally woke up. If I’m going to talk it, I’ve got to live it.” TASUS now offers on-site fitness classes and has helped to improve the health of many employees. TASUS Receives Recognition from APICS

Georgetown, TX – TASUS hosted a plant tour, luncheon and Q&A session sponsored by the Austin chapter of APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) Approximately 50 people participated representing over ten regional companies.

The Georgetown, Texas plant was recognized as a shining example of Lean, Green and Continuous Improvement methodology. The plant operates under ISO14001 certification, TS16949, and embraces all related policies and procedures. From the use of recycled materials to manufacture products, to the use of re-usable packaging for shipping and distribution.
