    For this week’s #employeespotlight, meet John Bodle, a quality technician at TASUS Indiana. Last month was his three year anniversary working at TASUS. John’s favorite part of working at TASUS is the hardworking people he gets to interact with. Working on the 3M team, he finds that ideas come from all over the plant and that lots of different people can help each other in ways they wouldn’t expect. John finds motivation in his kids--both his two sons and his fiance's son and daughter. All of them are young children and a lot of fun. In his free time he likes spending time with the kids and his friends. John described himself as a nerd; he enjoys comic books and D&D.   • Employee Spotlight: Chrystal Miller

    For this week's #employeespotlight, meet Chrystal Miller, a quality engineer at TASUS Indiana. She has been working at TASUS for 19 years. Chrystal’s favorite part of working at TASUS is the people she works with and she tries to make their work lighthearted and fun. She has lots of positive energy and likes to make the people around her laugh. When asked what her personal motivation is, Chrystal said: “be the change you want to see.” She tries to focus on self improvement; Chrystal was proud to say she has been working extra hard this year to maintain a healthy lifestyle, getting up as early as four in the morning to go to the gym before work. In her free time she enjoys creative pursuits such as singing and writing. Her coworkers had a lot to say about her talents as a musician and an author.   • Congratulations: Melanie Walker

    Congratulations Melanie Walker, President and CEO of TASUS and Tsuchiya Group North America, for receiving the Japan-America Society of Indiana’s “Bridge of Friendship Award"! The award was presented last Wednesday, August 7th, at the JASI’s annual gala, an event for corporate and community leaders to come together from throughout the state and region. The award was presented by Theresa Kulczak, Executive Director of JASI, and Millie Marshall, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana. According to the JASI, the “Bridge of Friendship Award” honors individuals, companies, and communities that have “demonstrated distinguished leadership in the Indiana-Japan relationship.” Past recipients of the award include Founder and CEO of SONY Akio Morita, Former Senator Richard Lugar, Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Thomas S. Foley, and Former Ambassador of Japan to the United States Ryozo Kato.

    For this week’s #employeespotlight, meet Kaisha Woods, a quality technician at TASUS Alabama. This August will be her third year with TASUS. Kaisha’s favorite part of working at TASUS is the “family feel” of the whole company: “no matter what position you are in we feel comfortable speaking on work related issues to one another.” She also says she loves that TASUS looks within the company to fill positions before looking outside. When asked about her motivation for work, Kaisha replied, “do the work others aren’t willing to do and you’ll get the things others never have.” Kaisha has a four year old son named Kyan Thomas. In her free time, she likes to travel and take her son to experience things outside of their hometown.   • Employee Spotlight: Jakob Babrick

    For this week’s #employeespotlight meet Jakob Babrick, an automation engineer at TASUS Alabama. Jakob has been working with TASUS for three years. His favorite part of working at TASUS is the people he works with: “I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. I enjoy coming to work and spending the day with my second family.” Jakob says he also appreciates the challenges he faces and critical thinking he has to do: “there is always something for me to fix or improve everyday.” Jakob is married to the “beautiful Lady Jennifer of House Babrick.” They got married the Saturday after he started at TASUS. In his free time, Jakob enjoys painting, for himself and his friends; he is looking into selling his art at the Renaissance Fair and on Etsy. He also loves collecting Batman memorabilia and comics.     For this week’s #employeespotlight meet Joshua Myers, a maintenance technician at TASUS Alabama. This November will be his sixth service anniversary with TASUS. Joshua says his favorite part of working at TASUS is the group he gets to work with: “it’s a good group of guys. We have each other's backs.” Joshua’s motivation is his wife Jodi, his kids Gavin and Garrett, and his working partners. In his free time he loves racing (“anything that will go fast”), hunting, and fishing.     For this weeks #Employeespotlight meet Amanda Gavin, a production trainer at TASUS Alabama. August 5th, 2019 will be her 6th service anniversary with TASUS. Amanda says her favorite part of working at TASUS is the culture that inspires her to “become a better person not only in work, but in the community as well.” Amanda is a proud mother of her nine year old daughter Ava. They spend time together participating in Girl Scout events and enjoying the outdoors.   • Regional Opportunity Initiatives’ Third Annual Educator Boot Camp!

    This June, TASUS took part in Regional Opportunity Initiatives’ third annual Educator Boot Camp! Educator Boot Camp is a job shadowing experience for teachers, counselors, and school leaders to explore STEM career opportunities for their students. Participants work with businesses to learn about the jobs available in Southwest Central Indiana and the skills needed to obtain them. ROI’s Boot Camp is a great opportunity for teachers to experience firsthand what industrial careers their students can pursue. On June 18th, local educators spent a day working alongside TASUS employees to learn about the different components of industrial STEM careers.     For this week's #EmployeeSpotlight meet Chicago native Edward Andres, a production operator at TASUS Bloomington. Edward has been with TASUS for just under a year and, according to his supervisor: “I’m not allowed to have a favorite, but if I were it would be Edward.” His fellow TASUS employees describe him as funny, charismatic, and “the life of the party”.   • O’Bannon Day of Service

    TASUS has so much fun last Friday helping out International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES) packaging dried foods during Ivy Tech’s annual O’Bannon Day of Service. In just two hours, 55 boxes with 48 bags of food each, adding up to 15,000 meals (!!!!), were packaged and are now on their way to Haitian families!
